Afternoon of June 15, 2025 at YKK Vietnam – Nhon Trach Factory From the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS): Ms. Mai – Deputy General Secretary and Head of the VITAS Representative Office in Ho Chi Minh City. During the reception, Mr. Yuji Furukawa, General Director of YKK Vietnam, chaired the meeting and presented the company’s long-term development orientation towards 2035. Key highlights included:
- Green Investment Strategy: Increasing use of renewable energy and eco-friendly materials to reduce carbon emissions.
- Digital Transformation and Automation: Applying advanced technology in production and management to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Strengthening the Local Supply Chain: Expanding cooperation with domestic enterprises to improve autonomy and reduce reliance on imported materials.
- Enhancing Product Value: Investing in research and development to improve design and quality for better competitiveness.
- Improving Labor Policies: Ensuring safe working conditions, better employee benefits, and sustainable human resource development.
- Diversifying Sales Channels: Expanding market access through e-commerce platforms and modern distribution networks.
In addition, YKK Vietnam proudly announced that its Ha Nam factory has achieved the “LEED Silver” certification, and the company is striving for its Nhon Trach factory to attain the “LEED” certification—a testament to its strong commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.
After touring the production lines, Ms. Mai – Deputy General Secretary and Head of the VITAS Representative Office in Ho Chi Minh City expressed her joy and deep impression with the professional working environment, modern production processes, and YKK Vietnam’s sustainable development strategy.
She highly appreciated the company’s efforts in green production, digital transformation, and corporate social responsibility. Ms. Mai affirmed that VITAS will continue to support YKK Vietnam and actively promote YKK Vietnam’s zipper products to association members as well as within regional textile and apparel associations across Asia.
The visit was conducted in an open and positive spirit, demonstrating the strong partnership between YKK Vietnam and VITAS. It also marked an important step in strengthening linkages and promoting sustainable development in Vietnam’s supporting industries in the coming years.
